Brotherhood (part Wonosobo)

Menjer Lake is one of many places that we have to see when we are in Wonosobo. Menjer is a volcanic lake that "created" by eruption of mt. Pakuwaja. It's 70 hectare broad and about 45 m deep, located in Maron, sub district Garung, Wonosobo regency or about 500 m from my householder's home. It's named Menjer because Maron is a new village that named Menjer before. Formerly, the water of this lake comes from some little fountain and depend on rain season.

another conduit

a bridge above the conduit

Then in colonial era, they build a hydropower from this lake. So they dam Serayu river partly to drain the water to the hydropower by big pipes. We can see that pipes when we drive in the hydropower to the lake. The street toward the lake was so beautiful with many pine trees on the roadside.

winding road

front gate

This gate isn't always open, but we can entry by the side gate. The ticket is very cheap, its only 3000 rupiah for adult. Or if we're "lucky", we can enter for free because there's no stand guard one their place.

88 stairs

journalist's hill

Before we reach the lake, we must down the 88 stairs. On the one side, we can see a "carving" from journalist association that plant many trees around the lake and they named journalist's hill.

And.. this is the beautiful place named Telaga Menjer (Menjer Lake)

Unfortunately, fog was move down when we got there. So, the mt. Pakuwaja doesn't appear. Other bad thing is people make it worse by throwing the garbage to the lake, like snack wrap, drinking bottle, and other plastic waste.

i'm not a people who can solve every problem. I just try to make it better by stay on the rule, God's rule.
I do realy want go back there soon...

ketika kata tak dapat dicipta dari sebuah rasa

Ketika puncak emosi hanya terjerat,

tersendat, berkarat dalam jiwa

ketika air mata mengambil alih bahasa

Ketika segala terasa susah dikata

Brotherhood (part Wonosobo)

"We're going to Wonosobo, then Batang on the following three days. Make a route with the GPS." my brother said in a quite morning. I haven't 100% wake up yet, so i just ignore it. You know, hearing something that too serious in the morning is just like a dream. Real or fantasy? I'm not realy sure. haha

the D-day comes!
Mountain sandals, jeans, t-shirt plus jacket, and helmet. Yes, we are ready to go! No, we're not going by bus or car, we're motorcycling. By the GPS, i know that start on my place (Jogjakarta) to wonosobo needs about 4 hours with about 170km distance. So, we prepare the motorcycle, stamina, and of course our butt. We'll plan to get rest every 2 hours riding. Don't push ur self on driving, it'll be dangerous.

Wonosobo is a regency in central java. It's located between Sindoro and Sumbing mountain. So, you can imaging about how great the view is, the temperature, and also the people. Lies on about 300 to 2300 meter above sea level, wonosobo is a  perfect place for farming including vegetables, tea, coffee, tobacco, etc. Dont ask me about the temperature when I got there, I think I just outside of equator. I dont know for sure about the number of temperature, maybe under 20 celsius. No, dont laugh at me. For me as Indonesian, it's enough to make shiver on me.

Morning in wonosobo is more and more freezing. My householder said that I can make it a little bit warm if I sit in front the "pawon". Pawon means traditional stove made from clay. Almost every house use it.

My householder placed the pawon on his third floor of his house. Dont imaging its a big or great house. As you know, this is densely populated area. People here built their house upward not widen. Small but high. :)

drying the tobacco leafs

Tobacco hanging on the roof is something usual there. It can increase family income if they sell it or reduce family outlay by using their own tobacco for smoking. Yap, almost every men become active smoker there. They smoke to make their body warmer. They also put incense or kemenyan in their cigarette that make unusual aroma.

see, its a crowded place

sebuah perjalanan

Hari yang tiba-tiba melambat
Angin berhembus menggurat pelipis menyibak keringat
Anak rambut menari seolah menyapa mentari pagi
Berjalan beriringan, bertutur tentang mimpi
Mengumbar tawa mesra meski itu perjalanan pertama
Sungguh, ingin kubunuh waktu ketika sedang bersamamu

Hari berubah terlalu cepat
Angin masih berhembus
Menyeka tulang pipi yang mulai mengering
Anak rambut masih menari
Meneriaki mendung yang sedari tadi menggantung
Langkah kaki memendek, sesekali berhenti
Menanyakan langkah kaki lain yang pernah berharmoni
Bibir sempurna mengatup
Mata nanar kini tertutup

Sungguh, Ingin kuputar waktu sesukaku ketika kau mulai pergi darihidupku

Jalan usia

Nanar mata menatap senja

Berujar kisah masa yang tak berujung jua

Menengadah mencari pembela

Pada tiap helaan nafas yang tersisa

Terpanjatlah semua doa dan tawa

Menua bersama senja

Bernyanyi dipuncak suara, tiada

(Nurul Fatimah, 2013)

Dirgahayu Negriku, kucinta tanah, air, udara, alam, dan segala isimu
Namun kubenci dengan "penguasamu" yang lupa amanah
Terimakasih pahlawan Bangsaku, tanpamu hidupku sekarang belum tentu hidupku
